Retro Ford Track Day
Retro Ford Track Day - September 24th 2011
Mondello Park and the Ford Marque will once again combine to run a Retro Ford Track day at the County Kildare Track on Saturday September 24th. The event will include a full day of track sessions and displays of Retro and Classic Fords and other makes.
The day will be the first Ford backed day event to run through the newly renamed Turn 1 which will now be known as Ford corner as part of the car manufacturers expanded partnership with Mondello Park.
This will be the third occasion on which a track day will be run for Retro and Classic cars at Mondello Park, following the inaugural event in 2010 and the running of the second event earlier this year. While the day will mainly concentrate on Ford’s due to the involvement of a number of Ford owners clubs all Retro and Classic cars are welcome.
The Retro Ford Track Day will run on the full Mondello International Track layout. ‘Grip’ and ‘Drift’ sessions will be offered with drivers having the opportunity to try and put in some fast laps in the ‘Grip’ sessions or enjoy sliding through the corners in the ‘Drift’ sessions.
Spaces in the track sessions are limited and are currently open for booking. Retro and Classic car owners who are not taking part in the track session are invited to come along and display their cars and spectators are also welcome. Entry for drivers of display cars will be free of charge if they book in advance. To avail of a free entry, drivers must fill out the booking form on the Ford Retro Track Day page of the Mondello Park web site. There will be a nominal charge of just €5.00 for spectators and any display cars arriving on the day.
