Formula Sheane Single Seaters

Single Seater in Pits
The chance to drive a single seat racing car offered by the Motor Racing School is unique in Ireland. Following tuition in the Mazda 3 and your classroom session you will be ready for the thrill of a lifetime behind the wheel of a real racing car.

The single seaters used are a Formula Sheane similar to the ones used in the Formula Sheane race series but restricted to make them more suitable for novice racers. The sensation of driving a single seat racer sitting just inches off the ground is unlike any other driving experience. The purpose built nature of the car and the levels of feedback recieved from it mean the driver is totally at one with this purpose built racer.

If you have listened to your instructor carefully you will achieve the speeds through the corners necessary to allow you bring the Formula Sheane up to over 100mph on the back straight, before having to brake hard for the following corner. Speed is not the focus however when competing in a race car, lap times are. String together the corners and straights into a smooth and controlled lap and you will knock off those all important seconds lap by lap to enable you to reach your goal of your last lap being your quickest.

We will do our best to help you to improve at every stage of the course but nothing our instructors say will prepare you for the rush of adrenaline experienced driving our Formula Sheane cars or the broad smile you will be wearing all the way home.
