Time-Attack

Time Attack is a Sport where outright speed over a single lap determines the winner. Battles are fought out between drivers and car tuners to see who can set the fastest lap time over the course of an event with each drivers single fastest lap time in the final session deciding the results.

While up to twenty eight cars could be on track together, drivers do not race wheel to wheel to be first past the chequered flag, instead they aim to find some clear track in order to put together that perfect lap that will give them the fastest time of the day in their class.

Time-Attack has six different classes split over two championships, 'Pro' and 'Club', with each championship split into three separate classes based on engine size. All cars are based on road going vehicles from major manufacturers with varying levels of modification allowed. Cars must run on readily available, over the counter, road legal tyres which are not marked as 'for racing use' (for exact details see the championship regulations HERE).

PRO CHAMPIONSHIP

The Pro Championship is for the professional tuning houses and more experienced competitors as it allows almost unlimited engine, suspension and drive train modifications as long as the chassis being used is retained with the engine, gearbox and drive train all in the original layout. Aerodynamic modifications and lightweight panels are also allowed so long as the car retains its original chassis and basic appearance. In other words the car being used should still be recognisable as the original road going vehicle.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

The Club Championship is for less highly modified cars with the major difference being that composite materials and aerodynamic aids are not permitted. Club Championship cars are allowed less modifications to suspension pick up points, must retain the original dash and cannot fit wider bodywork to accommodate wider wheels and tyres.

All cars in both divisions must comply to specific safety criteria, with the standards required for the Club class slightly less stringent due to the lower speeds of the cars. For full championship technical and safety regulations, as well as the Sporting Regulations which set out how events and the championship are run see our Forms and Regulations page.
